Hibernaculum Programming
The Hibernaculum exhibition was supported by programming featuring a variety of art and design professionals ranging from professional design groups such as the Boston Society of Landscape Architects to small local studios including AntiDesigns to design institutions such as the Harvard Graduate School of Design. During it’s month-long run, the Hibernaculum exhibition served as a gathering place for Boston’s greater creative community. Programming was selected to keep the exhibition events and subject matter relevant to local creatives with diverse interests, as well as appeal to the general population of Greater Boston. Programming is curated to engage the best of Boston’s creative community.

Tactical Urbanism + The Lawn on D
Tactical Urbanism has emerged as a creative approach to low-cost, short-term place-making and neighborhood building. DIY crosswalks, temporary parks, pop-up beer gardens, mobile retail and food truck plazas are budding examples. Cities and developers are recognizing the value in these efficient, scalable projects and they are leveraging creative capital to test ideas for public space before investing in costly, long-term projects. In Boston, the Lawn on D has become an exciting local example of a tactical urbanism approach to development. The Lawn on D opened last summer as a temporary, flexible park built to test programming ideas for the future expansion of the Boston Convention and Expo Center. Join the landscape architect, urban designer, and event programmer responsible for the Lawn on D in a discussion of how the temporary park became an overnight success. The panel will be followed by happy hour and tours of the Lawn on D.
This event is co-hosted by the Boston Society of Landscape Architects Emerging Professionals Committee and the Boston Society of Architects Emerging Professional Network.
