The Borden Boys
The Borden Boys is the collaborative moniker used by artists Christian Delano Borden and David Buckley Borden. Natives of Massachusetts, the two brothers are lifelong creative collaborators despite their shared history as dangerously combative playmates. The Borden brothers’ environmental artwork often interrogates ecological conditions through the cultural lens of 80’s suburban youth culture. Their work, characterized by tongue-in-cheek sculptures and uncanny installations, can be found (often without permission) in and outside the gallery. Thirty years after accidentally burning down the woods, “those bad Borden boys” are still trying to make amends by producing work that supports landscape stewardship and environmental justice for all.
Christian is a graduate of the School of Museum of Fine Arts with a concentration in sculpture and metalwork. David is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a concentration in landscape architecture. They both perform poorly on standardized tests.
